A Home Town Thanksgiving Tradition with the Finest Cuisine

Mom’s Place Too in Grantsville, WV held their traditional Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 28th, 2024. Approximately 200 people responded to the free meal invitation with nearly 100 of those being to-go trays.

Seventeen volunteers served two hundred meals, 118 of which were served within one hour!

Gordon Food Service donated the turkeys and have done so each year with several others stepping up to donate food and help Mom’s Place host the event. Over thirty pies were donated by various people, topping the meal off as if it were a family affair.

Business owner Lisa Cooper began this tradition twenty years ago at their location in Elizabeth, WV. She’s been providing it on Thanksgiving in Grantsville for 11 years, saying “I am so blessed with community to make this a success.”

With Ridgeview News as one of the recipients of the Thanksgiving meal, I can attest to the fact that it was a success! Thank you “Houners” for making my Thanksgiving day a little more special and my heart a lot more grateful for the community I’m privileged to be from.
