Calhoun Middle School Baseball Post Wins in Doddridge and Braxton County Games

Calhoun Middle School hosted Doddridge County Middle on April 3rd.  Cooper Morris threw 83 pitches in four innings – 43 strikes with 7 strikeouts.  Chase Schoolcraft finished the game throwing 30 pitches – 15 strikes with 4 strikeouts.

After a slow start the Red Devils bats warmed up to lead the team to a 16-2 victory.  Rome Riddel & Reese Schoolcraft both had well hit doubles.  The team had 21 total stolen bases.

Batting:

Charter Cottrell – 3 hits – singles – 2 runs

Garrett Carpenter – 2 hits – singles – 1 BB  – 2 RBI – 1 Run

Reese Schoolcraft – 1 hit – double – 2 BB – 2 RBI – 3 runs

Orion Swearingen – 1 hit – single – 1 HBP – 3 RBI – 2 Runs

Rome Riddle – 1 Hit – double – 1 BB – 3 RBI – 1 Run

Brennen Carpenter – 1 hit – single – 2 BB – 3 Runs

Chase Schoolcraft – 1 hit – single – 1 BB – 2 RBI – 2 Runs

Cooper Morris – 2 HBP – 2 runs

Chace Toney – 1 HPB

April 5th Calhoun Middle School baseball traveled to Holly Gray Park to take on Braxton County Middle.  The Devils took an early lead and never looked back, winning 15-3.

Reese Schoolcraft and Orion Swearingen worked their magic as pitcher and catcher to lead their team in the win.  Reese threw 95 pitches over 6 innings, having 58 strikes with 11 strikeouts only allowing 2 earned runs, 3 hits and having only 4 BB.

Chase Schoolcraft, Chace Toney, Reese Schoolcraft & Brennen Carpenter had a double hit each.  The team had 19 total stolen bases.

Leading the batting stats was Orion Swearingen.  Swearingen had 2 hits – singles – 4 RBI
