Under Delegations, Kevin Hartshorn, a parent of Pleasant Hill Elementary School Students was allotted five minutes to state his issue with an incident involving his child. Mr. Hartshorn informed the School Board that his daughter had a medical emergency on the bus last week when she passed out while being transported. An ambulance was called and the child was taken to the hospital for treatment which it was then un-determined as to what the cause of her passing out was and a recommendation and referral was done to have the child looked at by a specialist. Mr. Hartshorn noted that a specialist requires a referral but doesn’t immediately get an appointment. Within two days the Hartshorns received a visit from Child Protective Services, having been reported by a school employee that they had not followed recommended medical procedures with their child. Mr. Hartshorn informed the board that they should “Concern themselves more with curriculum and leave the parenting to the parents, as they had not received an appointment from the Hospital for their child.”

Superintendent Fitzwater informed Mr. Hartshorn that he had written down his complaint and would follow it up with an investigation regarding the matter.

Under Personnel, it was determined by the Board that bus driver Jeffrey Brannon, responsible for the March 4th accident, was terminated as an employee effective immediately.

Matters of note that were approved was the appointment of Calhoun County Schools Treasurer, Mackenzie Petry. Also recognized was the retirement of Teachers: Daniel Cosgrove, Jill Trippett and Carl Collins. Under Service Personnel: Bus drivers Tommy Lewis and Marshall Bever. Resignations were approved from Brenda Morgan, Anthony Oldham, Susie Brannon and Pam Gainer and lastly Trudy Anderson resigned as twirling coach.
