Calhoun Student Places 2nd in State HOSA Conference

Marissa Brannon, Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center and Savannah Voit, Hampshire

This is the first time in several years that CGCC Students have had a HOSA chapter and have been able to attend the HOSA State Conference. HOSA stands for Future Health Professionals and grants many opportunities to its members. By participating in HOSA, members are enriched both personally and educationally as all of the competitions and workshops are career oriented. This year the State Conference was held in Huntington, WV on March 3rd and 4th.

Mrs. Rebecca Swisher and Health Science students who participated in the WV State HOSA Conference: Brooklynn Harris, Lindsey Schoolcraft, Marissa Brannon, Jaylyn Peters, Katherine Phares, and Jayda Osborne.

Congratulations go to Marissa Brannon, a junior at Calhoun County High School, for placing 2nd in Nursing Assisting. Marissa now can travel to Dallas Texas in June to compete in the National Conference.
We are very proud of all of the students and are eager to see the program flourish in the years to come!
