Creston News: Farmers, Gun Owners and Educated People are America’s enemies

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

There was a nice crowd at the Grim reunion held Saturday at the Creston Community Building.  There were several “honorary members” of the family there who also feasted on the goodies that were provided. The younger set had fun on the merry go round as had preceding generations of the Grim & other Creston families. Ted Grim who has been the MC [since whenever] was unable to come because he is having troubles with swelling in his legs.

The big fall Creston ATV poker run is scheduled for Saturday, September 30 at the Creston Community Building.  It should be a fun ride and it was announced that hamburgers will be served and, of course, biscuits & gravy for breakfast.

Alvin Engelke still has loveable kittens to give away. They look up and ask, “You are going to pet me now aren’t you.”  As a reward they then purr and play.

There were 14 workers on the Creston Area Neighborhood Watch litter pickup on Saturday including those who fixed the goodies for those who worked.  Mary Reno who was visiting at the Carl Ferrell residence helped and Suellen Arthur baked a very tasty cake.  There were about 10 bags of trash & Marty deVries found an old lantern.

Folks who have game cameras up to look for the big trophy bucks report seeing more bear than deer.  A big coyote was  spotted on the Richardsonville Road one day last week.

Wanda Miller, age 80, passed away at the Minnie Hamilton facility in Grantsville. She was the wife of Arnold [Johnny] Miller, the mail carrier who has been a resident of the extended care unit there for several years. She was the daughter of Glover & Delma Arthur Starcher and grew up at the mouth of Big Run of Little Creek.  Burial in the Bryner Chapel graveyard at Joker.

The Creston area had another power outage although, perhaps, such things are not really news.  Speaking of electricity, Omnis Fuel Technologies is now running the power plant in Pleasants County.  According to Bill Cole who apparently is part of the team that purchased the plant and saved it from being cut up for scrap [likely to be sold to make weapons for Chairman Xi].  The plan is to triple the purchase of coal used to run the plant but the coal is to be converted to graphite & graphine and hydrogen which is to be used as the fuel for the power generation. Cole noted that the graphite is worth $2.500/ton and one ton of coal makes 0.6 tons of graphite.  Thirty acres of land is to be purchased from Solvay to build the facility to convert the coal to the high dollar products and hydrogen.

The Wirt County state road crew was mowing highways & byways in the Creston area.  The work was much appreciated by local residents.

The attack on farming continues.  Over the decades government policy has eliminated over 90% of farms and now there are attacks on the “medium sized” agricultural operations.  There is the WOTUS rule, nutrient management guidelines & outright hostility as shown in Virginia against the Amish who dare prosper and provide healthy food.  Now the talk is we should eat insects and lab grown “meat” to “save the planet” and the haughty John Heintz Kerry says “agriculture is a problem”.  No doubt he will exempt Kobe beef, truffles & Iranian (Persian) caviar from the rules as the elites are not be inconvenienced.  Cheap food has been the mantra for a long time now and it had been that only 9% of a family’s income had to used for food but not anymore especially for those on fixed incomes.  A fellow was noting the price of spam, bologna and white bread.  Speaking of the so called global warming apparently the local deer population didn’t get the memo an now they are sporting their winter coats.

The global warming hoaxers have been pushing the CO2 story for quite some time now and many have now become very rich.  CO2 is 0.4% of the atmosphere and 3.2% of that is caused by us.  Recently there was a major underwater volcano eruption in the “East Indies” but it wasn’t news because is fouled up the narrative that the hucksters have been pushing.

There seems to be big trouble with the little school in Morgantown that “earned” a reputation as a leading party school.  Just like the late Ohio Valley University and Alderson Broaddus College, both now defunct, the Morgantown facility has serious $$$ problems.  Perfesser Gee Haw said they should cut back on academic programs [Who needs that there book larnin’ anyhow?] and push core programs such as the lucrative sports businesses and the obvious cash cow of health care.  The faculty said no but coal baron Jim Justice and Sen. President “Baldy” Blair sided with Gee.  Prof. Gee is the one who suggested forced relocation of W. Va. residents to make for easier delivery of “government services”

Columbia Gas wants to take 177 acres of Oriskany & Marcellus acreage to expand the big storage field at Rockport.  They gave an ultimation $50/acre sign or we sue you as “this is for the public good”.  It would seem that some of the poor Rockefeller children don’t have shoes for winter or else it means that big things are in the works for the gas storage fields in West Virginia.  Under the plan all the native hydrocarbons in both formations would become Rockefeller property.  It was noted that when the Rockport storage field started Godfrey L. Cabot was paid for all the native gas in the Oriskany as Cabot had men on his payroll who could calculate such matters.

Work is underway for stream crossings for the MVP (Mountain Valley Pipeline) in southern West Virginia.  There have been fire bombings & other demonstrations & it was learned that one of the funding sources for the “environmentalists”  that try to disrupt the operations is “Onward Together” which is a Hillary Clinton foundation.

Some local residents received telephone calls advising that they had won $8 million plus a sports car, etc.  All one had to do was call and give the bank routing numbers. Others have received telephone calls from “social security”, calls from Beverly Hills, etc. Several people in the area have reported receiving as many as 20 calls per day from these “telemarketers”!

The Ruling Junta recently cancelled oil & gas leases in Alaska but their head man at FERC recently spoke in Singapore at a big conference and stated “There  will be no transition of our energy systems without natural gas”.

Gulfport Energy, an outfit that drills Marcellus & Utica wells in Ohio noted that in their new 4 mile long laterals in the Utica the daily production is 2.5 bilion cubic feet/day for each thousand feet of lateral.  The Utica under Creston is 1100 feet thick.

Fidelis, the fine outfit that is going  to get the $2 billion taxpayer “loan” to use natural gas and make hydrogen and generate no CO2 [since it will be sequestered] announced that Battlele Carbon Services will head up that part of the scheme that apparently will show that the laws of physics do not apply when government/taxpayer money is involved.  This project is to be in Mason County.

It was noted that in2004 Range Resources drilled their first successful Marcellus well in Washington County Pennsylvania.  Now the 3 state area produces more natural gas than most nations.

Our betters have been telling us that the Second Amendment is outdated and should be abolished so we can all be led away as were those unfortunate folks in Europe a few decades ago. Now the governor of New Mexico has abolished gun ownership in her state but not everyone is bowing down, just like folks are not going along with the new proposed COVID mandates, edicts & directives.

The big Ergon catfish fry is September 20 at the Shriner’s facility at Marietta.  For reservations call 1-800-278-3364.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude rose to $86.51/bbl. with condensate, formerly called Appalachian light sweet, fetching $68.51/bbl. & Marcellus & Utica light bringing $77.51 & medium $86.51/bbl.  However, for some reason one can purchase gasolene in Parkersburg for $3.14.5/gallon
