Not Every Battle is Won with a Sword

Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

While it’s no short drive, (6+ hours) from Grantsville, the Sight and Sound Theatre was well worth the effort for someone such as Gloria Jones and I, and perhaps you, who appreciate a spiritually encouraging vacation.

The Story of David from the Scriptures of 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, Psalms and mentions throughout many other books, happens to be one of my favorites. But watching it come to life with original music inspired by the Psalms, this state-of-the-art theatrical experience allowed me to identify with the heartaches and tragedies that I had read but now they were alive. The whole family can witness one of the most legendary Bible stories as it comes to life with spectacular special effects, massive sets, and live animals in this brand-new stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres.

The actors were phenomenal, even the live animals that roamed the stage, walked and galloped the aisle knew their lines!

David, the master Poet. Fearless Warrior. Anointed King. From still waters to shadowed valleys, David’s ascent to the throne is filled with towering giants, wild animals, and Philistine soldiers. After unprecedented victories lead to devastating failures, this passionate warrior faced the biggest battle of all: the one within himself. Through the productions of Site and Sound Theatre you’re given the opportunity to come alongside the young shepherd on his journey to become a man after God’s own heart.

The world will tell you that Hollywood’s where it’s at for entertainment. No… It’s in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The difference is, you can walk away telling your children, the events that transpired on stage were truth. There’s not a bad seat in the 2,000 seat theatre. But I’ve provided a map below to tell you where possibly the best seats (from my opinion) would likely be when you’re booking online. I warn you, the tickets are not cheap, but the reality of that is we spend far more on worldly things without question.
