Run away Vehicle Seriously Injures One

8:25 A.M. UPDATE ON CURRENT CONDITION OF KATHY BADGETT: AN UPDATE PROVIDED BY KATHY’S FAMILY STATED THAT SHE REQUIRED SURGERY THIS MORNING, AUGUST 5TH, TO PLACE A ROD IN HER LEG THAT WAS BROKEN IN THE ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION SHE SUSTAINED BROKEN RIBS, AND A PUNCTURED LUNG, AND FLUID AROUND HER HEART. PLEASE BE IN PRAYER FOR KATHY AND HER FAMILY.

An accident on Yellow Creek Road Friday afternoon, August 4th, 2024 about 4:30 p.m. could have ended in tragedy but rather ended in a serious injury to Kathy Badgett and a minor injury to her sister Pam. After a day out the ladies returned home and were unloading the car, when the unattended vehicle began rolling backwards. The Ford Explorer left the drive way, traveled across the highway and over a steep embankment dragging Kathy with it. Once in the ravine the vehicle had Kathy pinned beneath it. Pam received a minor injury from the car door.

Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to assist in the removal of vehicle and Minnie Hamilton Health Systems ambulance. Once the vehicle was removed, Kathy was transported to Pleasant Hill School for life flight to a larger facility later.

Trooper J.D. Richards’s is the investigating officer.
