THIS IS NOT A WVPSC HEARING. Please see today’s Article on Hope Gas Town Hall.
Ridgeview News received information from Alvin Engelke, Creston News Writer and conscientious citizen advisor, regarding a West Virginia Public Service Commission hearing that will take place at the Hope Office in Grantsville on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 5 p.m. (this will be a Hope Gas Town Hall) see article here
According to Mr. Engelke, Tom Whittier went to PSC on Friday, December 6th, 2024 to see the maps showing the gathering lines to be abandoned so folks who are paying customers on said lines will have to go to propane or electric heat. Attorney Whittier was told that the maps were not for the public to see. In a statement from Mr. Engelke, he said , ,”The WVPSC does work in secret for their real clients, those who operate public utilities. My neighbor who burns on the old Hope line that takes gas from the WEVA station got a letter about the abandonment. Other wells in the Creston area in both Wirt & Calhoun Counties feed into this line. This is serious and urgent.”
County and city officials, impacted residents and oil & gas producers are advised to attend. This goes along with the proposed program to plug “marginal” producing oil & gas wells.
This information is incorrect. The PSC is not holding a hearing at this time and place.
