The 1982 Foundation Committee met at the Calhoun County Library, Monday evening, November 14th, 2022 at 6 p.m. for committee designation for the 2022 Christmas Market event at the Calhoun County Community Center. Vendors have been invited once again to fill the corridors of the former Calhoun Highway school that has been decked out in Holiday Decor.
Teresa Overton will be accepting vendor applications that will then be placed and organized by Jackie Boatright. Denise Carter will be in charge of the food for the event with Pulled Pork, Hot Dogs, Chips and a drink being the menu for the affair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the two days. Shari Johnson and Shelia Burch are in charge of the Parade float which will be designed in the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department bay. Loretta Smith and Brenda Gherke are pine gatherers for Decor, several others chimed in and agreed to help wherever needed.
This years event will have soup and s’mores at the fire pit on the ball field where there will be activities and picture opportunities, music, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Santa while children await their turn for the toy store trip inside the gymnasium for registered children.
Construction has once again began on the facility with new windows being installed in the gymnasium, a new LED sign at the entrance, paint colors and more to make for an exciting addition to the building facade and will stir the excitement for those watching for the buildings transformation. R
