Morris Enters into High Low Plea Agreement for Fleeing Charges

Michael Frederick Morris appeared before Judge Anita Harold Ashley to enter a High-Low Plea agreement on the charges of Felony Fleeing in a Vehicle with Reckless Endangerment and Misdemeanor Fleeing. Following his waiver of indictment, which is the right of a person charged with a felony to appear before a Grand Jury of 12 Jurors who must unanimously agree in there being evidence for trial, Mr. Morris agreed to forgo that proceeding and plea guilty. Under the conditions set forth by the court Mr. Morris will continue his involvement in Adult Drug Court which is currently about to graduate from. The Judge commended him on his success and stated that he had been a real pleasure in the program.

Under the condition of the plea agreement, Mr. Morris’ sentence is deferred for one year. At which time he will appear before Judge Ashley for sentencing which, if he is successful for the year of conditions, the felony will be dismissed and a plea to the misdemeanor will be entered.
