The 60th Annual Calhoun County Wood Festival kicked off at 10 a.m. with the opening of the boothes and plenty of fun and entertainment throughout the city streets. The Calhoun County Wood Festival Committee information booth is located directly across from the Calhoun County Courthouse on Main Street where free event programs and information is readily available. More vendors are expected to arrive today, with some fair weather vendors choosing not to attend yesterday’s event due to the expected rain.
And rain it did, but only for a couple of hours, cooling the air and making it a most pleasant evening of festivities.
The festival begins again today at 10 a.m. with the booths opening once again for your shopping pleasures. The Ridgeview News will be on scene today and posting at various times of the events happening around town so tune in often and stop down to say hello.
