On March 24 and 25, four Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center students with their advisors traveled to Fairmont State University to compete at the 2023 SkillsUSA West Virginia State Leadership & Skills Conference. We are excited to report that Caleb Nicholas took the stage and received a bronze medal in the Automotive Service Technology (AST) competition. In the AST Competition, competitors demonstrate their ability to perform automobile technician tasks based on skills outlined in guidelines published by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and the ASE Education Foundation.
During Easter Break the Top 10 Winners were released. Congratulations to Lindsey Schoolcraft, Job Skill Demonstration – 4th place and Joshua Hixon, Information Technology Services – 4th place. Also attending was Miranda Brannon who competed in Medical Terminology.
Congratulations to these students!
