While the central part of Calhoun County was preparing for flashes of fireworks in the sky, a burst of another kind was occurring on the Southern and Eastern parts of the community. Social media posts of local Barber, Susan Conrad of Crooked Run Road in Orma, WV, shows the damage createdW by an early evening cloudburst that dumped 3” of rain on areas of Calhoun and Gilmer. The Conrad’s had two bridges knocked from their foundations and a hay barn destroyed. Klipstine and White Pine roads were also reported with flooding.
Ridgeview News, being in the Central area of Calhoun, was busy whining about the dampening of spirits on the Calhoun County Park Event, not knowing that neighbors were undergoing a far worse weather event in their area. For folks who would, please put Ridgeview’s phone number in your contact list, and should you be in the vicinity of news (good or bad) give me a call so I can head your way, or contact people in the path for information.
