Long time residents John and Sue Oshoway returned from Wood County for the day to host their annual Melissa Oshoway Memorial Egg Hunt on the Wayne Underwood Field. The field was lined with excited children holding grocery bags and Easter Baskets ready to hit the ground running when Sue signaled the start of the hunt with her air horn. What had no doubt taken the Easter Bunny Helpers a great deal of time to scatter across the lawn, took mere minutes for the egg-cited children to scoop into their baskets.
The plastic eggs either held candy or a prize number for one of the hundreds of prizes donated for the event. Once the eggs were all found the children brought their bounties to the side to go throughv* the eggs to see if there were any prize slips in their stash. They’d then take the slips to the prize booth where more volunteers waited to hand out the prizes from candy to bicycles. What would have looked like chaos to many was a well organized and well received event.
