In a complaint filed by Sheriff Graham Knight, on Friday March 7th, 2025 at approximately 4:15 a.m., Sheriff Knight was contacted by Calhoun Dispatch and informed that they
recieved a call stating that someone was inside Willies Red Barn located at 1412 South Calhoun Highway,
Grantsville WV 26147.

When arriving on scene, Sheriff Knight walked to the rear of the building and located a whole cut into the
bottom of the wood building. Hearing noises from inside he announced himself and at that time Tommy Newell did exit
the building. Newell was detained and during a pat down it was discovered that he was in posession of several
litems from inside the building which was formerly a store known as Willie’s Red Barn. The items recovered from Tommy still had price tags affixed to them.

A blue in color glass smoking device was recovered from Newell and later determined to contain Methamphetamine.

Tommy Newell did unlawfully and intentionally enter without breaking the structure at 1412 South Calhoun Highway, Grantsville WV 26147 with knowledge that he was unauthorized to enter. Newell was in possession of property he later admitted to unlawfully taking from the building under the amount of $1, 000.00

Newell was arrested and is currently being held on $30,000 bond at the WV Central Regional Jail having been charged with: 25M07M00036 – Entering without breaking, Petit Larceny, Possession of a Controlled Substance, 25M07F0004, Receiving/Dispose of Stole Property.
