Bethel United Methodist Church, located at 130 Barcut Road, on the outskirts of Spencer, was another of the many victims of the Covid era. During that era many churches suffered the loss of congregations as members stopped attending and failed to return. The church set empty for a few years, burdening the heart of Roane residents Tony and Tracy Miller to breathe new life into the old church. Built in 1874, the 150 year old building sets atop a beautiful ridge giving a breathtaking view of the Roane countryside.
Inside, the Millers have renovated the facility to return to days of glory as an event venue. The 28×40 ft. Sanctuary is acoustically suited for music with the platform, podium and seating in place for any event.
The first event to celebrate the opening will be Saturday, September 28th, 2024 where the Miller’s invite you to enjoy a day of music and fellowship and the opportunity to see what the latest Roane County business venue has to offer.
The event will be from 12 Noon to 6 p.m. and host special guests: Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys, Tracy Miller and Rachel Burge, Denise Greathouse, The Rowsey’s, Steve and Lisa Adams, New Promise, and The Pearly Gates. Join the Miller family and enjoy the sounds of Southern, Mountain and Bluegrass gospel music with a view “Too good not to Share.”
