UPDATE: According to the criminal complaints filed on April 10, 2022 by Cpl. C.J. Myer of the Calhoun County Sheriff Department, he had received a call from Walgreens’ Pharmacist and the dispatch at 911 that there were two suspects coming to the Walgreens Store in Grantsville to pick up fraudulent prescriptions as confirmed by Walgreens.
The defendant had called Walgreens to confirm the price of the prescriptions that had been filed two weeks prior. The Sheriff’s Department was notified that there was a subject at the counter attempting to pick up the prescriptions. When Cpl. Myers arrived at the store he observed a male subject walking back and forth in front of the store and was able to identify him off of a photo that had been sent from Walgreens in Harrisville of the subject picking up a fraudulent prescription there. The male was identified as Christopher Daniel Mason of Easton, Pennsylvania.
Cpl. Myers went inside the store and located the female subject identified as Kia Shavonne Mason of Bronx, New York, at the counter attempting to obtain the fraudulent prescription. She was taken into custody and WV State Police Tpr. Josh Richards assisted in the arrest. During the course of the investigation a fake drivers license in the name of Valery Douglas, along with a VISA card in that same name was taken into evidence. After processing both defendants at the West Virginia State Police detachment the suspects were transported to the WV Central Regional Jail.
Calhoun has somehow made it on the map for bad ideas. In recent months this makes the third arrest for ”attempts” on prescription related crimes on local pharmacies.
Kia Shavonne Mason, 47, was arrested Sunday, April 10, 2022 for the felony charges of Prescription Fraud and Conspiracy to Commit A Felony. She is being held on $50,000 bond in the Central Regional Jail.
Christoper Daniel Mason, 23, was arrested Sunday, April 10 for the felony charge of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. He is being held on $25,000 bond in the Central Regional Jail.
