On October 19th, 2023 the 1982 Foundation will be hosting neighboring counties to come visit for a tour and insights into the various 1982 Foundation projects. Those inivted are county commissions, EDA, house of Delegate members, Chambers of Commerce, Historical Societies and any other interested parties (our neighboring counties and their neighboring counties about 16 in all). We will be inviting key business leaders and the Calhoun County Commission as well.
There have been considerable interest in the funding model as well as how The 1982 Foundation has engaged in such a significant grass roots effort. “This boils down to a sustainable vision, restored hope, and good ol fashioned grit,” according to Crystal Mersh, Foundation President.
