Boil Water Advisory for Mt. Zion PSD Customers

The Mt. Zion PSD are advising their customers from Spring Run in Arnoldsburg to the Arnoldsburg Park that they are on a boiled water advisory until further notice.

When notified of a boil water advisory, do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and cool before using; or use bottled water. You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until you are notified that the advisory has been lifted.

  1. did you all ever fix the water leak across from the Y intersection that has been reported atleast twice?

  2. Working on an answer for you. I know the guys did fix a leak or two in that area recently and one across from Speedy Mart this week, but not sure if you are talking about the same one or if this is a new one. If you or anyone do see a leak, do not hesitate to contact the office to report them. We are continuing to work on making the system better for everyone.

  3. The guys recently fixed two leaks around the Family Dollar and a valve that was leaking across from Speedy Mart this week. They have looked at the area that was wet across from the Y, but do not see any flow. Just a wet spot. It is on our radar, but if it is not actively flowing, the guys will continue to monitor it and focus on repairing leaks that are flowing. We did receive a note at the office today regarding this same leak and mentioning we need to fix our leaks and then we might not have to increase rates. To whomever wrote that, we have not raised rates on water, There was a recent increase in the sewer rates, but not water rates just to clear that up. We are working on the mess we inherited from the previous team that was neglecting the system and will continue to make it better for our customers. We have completed the mapping and activation of the 811 system to Mount Zion which was never addressed until this year by anyone (even though it was legally required) and we are working on providing the training to the guys that is required as well. Something else that was never completed. It will not happen overnight, but our new team is doing what we can to better serve our customers.
