According to a complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Calhoun County, in the office of Magistrate Lora Davis, Cpl. J.B. Hunt stated that on August 25, 2022, at approximately 7:25 p.m. he was contacted by Calhoun 911 regarding a domestic situation that was occurring near 261 Country Lane Road. Cpl. Hunt was advised that a Tallhammer subject had pushed a a female subject to the ground in the yard of the residence and was standing over her with his arm extended.
Upon his arrival at the aforementioned address, 911 had advised Cpl. Hunt that the altercation was now on the back porch. From the front yard he could see that two adult subjects were traveling back and forth inside the residence in front of the windows at which time he advised them to come out of the house. Katherine Tallhammer and Brandon Michael Tallhammer came out claiming that they had a verbal dispute.
At that time Cpl. Hunt and Cpl. D.C. Moore, who had arrived to assist, detained Brandon Tallhammer to search the residence, finding only two small children inside. Cpl. Hunt noticed that Ms. Tallhammer’s clothing was wet and that there was a blanket laying on the kitchen floor soaking up liquid. Ms. Tallhammer had said that the milk jug was accidentally broken and her clothing was wet as a result of it.
Although Katherine Tallhammer did not give a statement, Cpl. Hunt did obtain statements from Clyde Todd and Dream Jones, stating that they were exiting their residence when they witness Brandon Tallhammer push Katherine Tallhammer to the ground in the front yard of 295 County Lane Road.
In a mirandized statement Brandon Tallhammer said Katherine had fallen in the front yard, though the evidence showed otherwise. He was advised that he was under arrest by Cpl. hunt and secured in the patrol vehicle where he escaped by claiming from the back and through the front passenger door fleeing into a wooded area.
In addition to the charge of domestic battery, Prosecuting Attorney Nigel Jeffries filed a complaint on September 26th, 2022 in the office of Magistrate Lora Davis, stating that on or about September 7, 2022, Brandon Michael Tallhammer had failed , without cause to appear as required in the Circuit Court of Calhoun County for sentencing. Mr. Tallhammer had been arrested, charged and convicted for the felony charge of “Fleeing in a Vehicle with Reckless Indifference to the Safety of Others.
He is currently being held on a $60,000 Bond in the WV Central Regional Jail.
