Calhoun County Park had a busy few days with multiple activities and events.
Improvements continue to happen at the Calhoun County Park as a good crowd of volunteers gathered on August 17th to assist the park staff in distributing 900 bags of rubber mulch around the new playground equipment donated by Sandfork Schools in Gilmer County.
Friday evening the park ridge was lined with off road vehicles from Calhoun, West Virginia and several other States as the Appalachian Adventure Group arrived for an evening of touring the Historical village and making use of the beautiful camping facilities. The Calhoun Historical Society members, in costume, greeted the guests as they he toured the village buildings that are filled with stories brought to life by the Historical Society volunteers.
An additional treat for the traveling tour group was the Stargazers who showed up at the field and shared their knowledge of Astronomy and a look at the stars through their powerful equipment.
