Calhoun Commissioners Attend Legislative Conference

Calhoun County Commissioners, Craig Arthur, Jacob McCumbers and Eric Lupardus attended the West Virginia Legislative Conference where they connected with multiple Legislators.


Commissioner Eric Lupardus told Ridgeview News that they’d attended a breakfast with the commissioners of all 55 counties. During their time in Charleston they heard a Panel with Comcast, Traveled to the Capitol, Met with John Findlay staff with the Governor’s Office, Met with Senator Ben Queen regarding the County Update, American Medicine Company, Water Consolidation, infrastructure expansion, met with Senator Chris Rose to discuss the flooding in Southern WV, met with Senator Maynard to discuss tourism through off-road and motorsports, Attended house session and met former POW Jessica Lynch extending an invitation to neighboring Calhoun, and Attended a presentation by WVU President Gordon Gee.

At the Monday evening reception the Commissioners met with Speaker Hanshaw, Senator Queen, and Senator Maynard to discuss the impact the American Medical Company and 500 local jobs will have on Calhoun as well as tourism opportunities.

The Commissioner’s are keeping to their promises of being a voice for Calhoun County at the State level.
