After a very disappointing year last year, the Calhoun County Park Board had made the difficult decision to take this year off and reorganize the format of the Christmas light show next year.
We then received a call from Big Springs residents Rick and Debbie McGuire about using their computer controlled display at the park. After some discussion, the Park Board determined to utilize thee McGuire’s display and any others that were still available. It was decided that the park would make the displays available for viewing from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening, beginning December 18th through January 3rd.
The public is invited to observe the displays with the McGuire’s display being the feature. Be prepared to spend several minutes with the computer controlled display as it is synced with traditional Christmas music. You will be instructed to tune your car radio to an FM station to listen to the music as the lights dance to the rhythm of the Christmas songs.
There is no charge for the light display but you would like to make a donation to future light displays, please speak with a park board member.
The fm station for the main display is 106.9 the complete run of the show before it loops back too first song is 30.33 minutes. The night of the 31st the music will change to some rock and roll 30.50 long. We the Mcguires wish to thank each and everone that helped us getting the displays done for a good show and we hope that all that come enjoy them as much as we have in the past hopefully the future to come. We all together has taken approximately a week to get set up and ready for the displays to run. We the Mcguires want to thank the park board members for allowing us to set up in the park for all to see what we love seeing and doing for the community. There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing a child get so excited and the adults that do too. The smiles the laughter of the children and adults that holler wow look at that. We will be out there at times say hello we love meeting new people.
