Calhoun Wood Festival Announces 2022 Parade Marshalls

The Calhoun County Wood Festival Committee is proud to announce Donnie and Susan Pitts as the 2022 parade marshals.

Donnie is a 1967 Graduate of Calhoun High School, attended West Virginia Tech, Class of 1985, a teacher at Calhoun/Gilmer Career Center and was in administration for the Calhoun County Board of education from 1988 to 2008.

Donnie is a Deacon at Victory Baptist church and serves on the following Boards: Little Kanawha Area Development Corp, Minnie Hamilton Health System, Calhoun County Planning Committee, and the Calhoun County Park.

Susan was Queen Flora in 1967, Graduate of Calhoun High School, class of 1968, Glenville State College in 1972, Teacher at Calhoun County Schools from 1972 to 2005. She currently is on the Board of Directors and volunteer at Little Kanawha Valley Christian School and choir director at Victory Baptist Church.

Donnie and Susan have three children:
Erin S. Pitts of Washington, DC
Ryann E. Pitts Guest and husband Beau of Charlotte, NC.
Laura K. Pitts of Grand Rapids, Michigan and two wonderful grandchildren, Leah and Lauren Guest of Charlotte, NC.

Donnie and Susan enjoy Church, being with family and friends, camping and seeing new places.
“We have lived our entire lives in Calhoun County. We have seen the good and the bad, the fun and the not-so fun. We have seen what has been, some of what could have been, and now look forward to a bright future for our county. We have seen people come and people go. We have been fortunate to have known some of the best people in the world with all this we believe there is no better place in the world we know to live than Calhoun County.”
