Clay Yeager Jr. (Bub) Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clay Yeager, Jr. (Bub), 88, of Big Bend, WV, on July 19, 2025.

He was born on August 23, 1936, in Gilmer County, WV, a son of Clay O. Yeager and Eula Bush Yeager.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Grantsville, WV. He dearly loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He served in the Army and later retired from General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is survived by his son, Bill Yeager and daughter-in-law Patricia; three grandsons, William (Billy) Yeager and wife Kristen, Patrick Yeager and Andrew Yeager; two-great grandsons, Colin and Liam; three great-granddaughters, Esmay, Ellette and Madison all of Delavan Wisconsin; two step-sons, Rick Nester, and wife, Connie of Parkersburg and Mike Nestor of Grantsville; sister Phyllis Kerby of Glenville; two brothers Jimmy Yeager and wife, Sharon of Big Springs and Larry Yeager of Steubenville, Ohio; brother-in-law Charbo Trisdale of Tennessee and sister-in-law, Pam Yeager of Illinois; niece Ronda Rose and husband, Kevin of My. Zion, WV, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Ann Vargo Yeager and his second wife Leona Stull Yeager and son, John Yeager; brothers, Doug, Carson and Kenny; sisters, Pauline, Addie and Rieta; and brother-in-law, Johnny.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 107 Market Street, Grantsville, WV 26147, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Steven Carter officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Nobe Cemetery.
