CMHS Summer Camp Students get a Hometown Civics Tour

Submitted by John Frail

Today, Lori Strange-Paylor’s campers took their Game of Life tour to the Calhoun County Courthouse where Circuit Court Judge, Anita Ashley discussed the duties of a judge and responsibilities of the court.

Our campers got a through tour of the courthouse, including the County Assessor’s Office, Jason Nettles, the Circuit Court Office, Jean Simmers and our campers learned about how to pay their taxes, filing deeds, where we keep birth certificates and how to vote.

We appreciate everyone who presented.
