Creston News

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

Ellen Hedge is said to be doing well after having back surgery.  Some while back she had a fall & has been in pain ever since.  A couple of weeks ago her son-in-law had knee surgery.

Tom Mowrey is now in rehab after spending “quality time” in a Columbus hospital.

A few whip poor wills have been heard around Creston but they seem scarce.  The other night a local resident was awakened by a pack of coyotes that were not far from the house.  The increase of the invasive pests is likely why there has been a decline of the whip poor wills and wild turkeys.  Some years back some were caught/killed that had tags which would suggest that either government agencies and/or insurance companies turned them loose locally.  A popular local young tom cat has come up missing & it is hoped that didn’t end up as coyote food.

Shade Tree celebrated Cinco de Mayo with some excellent Mexican food topped off with a special apple pie.  Eating there one does not have worry about the amoeba and/or Montezuma’s revenge.

Local locust trees are now loaded with locust blossoms which are very tasty when dipped in batter & deep fried.  Also blooming are blackberries, the USDA’s multi flora rose, mock orange, peonies and iris.  Some years back peonies bloomed around Decoration Day so one could use them to take to decorate the graveyards.

Charles Russell who is at the Minnie Hamilton extended care unit was among those who went to Walmart and Wendy’s the other day.

Some local folks motored up to Ohio Amish country where hay harvest has started. Speaking of the Amish, two Pennsylvania men are doing 30 days in the jailhouse for helping Amish dairy farmers managing their cows.  The two men were taken from their homes and locked up without benefit of a hearing, trial or the usual rights citizens thought they had.  The deep state is real and very few elected or selected officials dare even speak against such.

Along those lines there was a governor’s panel on a Charleston tee vee station.  One of the trains of discussion was the serious misuse of highway funds under Gov. Justice who is now running to play senator and backing Moore Capito as the Joe Manchin anointed successor. As we all know and have observed $millions in road money were blown trimming tree tops[to make blacktop last longer].  Of course, poor quality materials and bad paving practices cause black top failure.  Seems the $$ was spent there on “tree trimming” enriching out of state contractors while neglecting [perhaps intentionally] bridge maintenance and repair.  An out of state paint crew has been painting new stripes on W. Va. 5.

A local woman got to make another visit to the emergency room after her call about two weeks ago.

The ruling junta has made it clear that gas stoves are to be banned along with furnaces and now hot water heaters using new impossible rules and guidelines. Since the constitution says nothing about such bans perhaps a new administration could just ban the federal agencies that come up with such silly rules.  Why should a nameless bureaucrat in the deep state in the lower Potomac swamp say how one cooks one’s food, heats one’s home or says what kind of chariot one drives, or for that matter, what vaccines one must take.  Seems now that Dr. Fauci’s vaccines cause all sorts of ailments but talking about such is labeled “disinformation” which is defined as facts that the ruling class does not want folks to know.

The Calhoun state road crew was working on the Richardsonville road and hauled stone.

Naomi Toler who is the local mail carrier had another flat tire.  She stated clearly that she does not order her tires from Oscar Meyer.

It was reported that while testing the Mountain Valley Pipeline that there was a burst.  Of course that is why there is a test with water to see if there were any flaws.

While some want to ship all the natural gas to benefit other areas, the folks in NE Pennsylvania have established the “Inland Triangle”, an area rich with natural gas that can be used to generate local industry. “Hey, is anyone awake down at the Mouth of the Elk?”

Hope Gas is in a disagreement with the folks that now operate the Pleasants Power plant that had been scheduled to be cut up for junk.  The new company plans to build a plant adjacent to the electric facility to use coal and natural gas to make hydrogen, graphite and graphene and convert the coal powered electric plant to using hydrogen.  Mother Hope says it cannot supply enough gas to run the new facility & the matter is before the PSC [Public Service Commission].  There is a plan to build a 20 inch gas line from Tyler County to supply Marcellus shale gas for the new and modified facilities.  It is said 800 men will work in the new plant.

Early voting has started so if one is going to be out of town or very, very busy on primary election day one needs to go to the county court house and vote early.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude slipped to $77.11/bbl. with condensate fetching just $59.11/bbl. and Marcellus & Utica light bringing $66.11 & medium $77.11/bbl.  Henry Hub natural gas rose to $2.14/MMBTU.
