Creston News

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

The Creston area had four turns of hail with the longest hailstorm lasting 7 minutes on Saturday with some quarter size chunks of ice.  More rainy weather is in the forecast so that first cutting hay which is ready to harvest will have to wait.

As a result of the solar storms several local residents were able to observe the aurora Friday evening.  The phenomenon shows that the sun, not windbags like Albert Gore Jr. & John Heintz-Kerry, determine both solar and earthly weather.  Of course, ever since the days of Nebuchadnezzar, there are those who like to play like they are god.

The Calhoun road crew did some work on the Richardsonville road.  There is a master road grader man on the crew and someone knew to choke in the bigger rock with small stuff making the road up the West Fork a pleasure to drive.  Naomi Toler, the mail carrier can now, perhaps, be spared from having flat tires.

It was reported that Martha Duskey, widow of Frank Duskey, passed away.

The other day a local demure damsel became concerned about her Lothario and didn’t know where he was.  She asked but others said they didn’t know or else wouldn’t tell her.  Frustrated after dark she “borrowed” a riding lawnmower and went on the hunt.  The noise of the lawnmower running after dark woke the owner up and then went after the damsel who abandoned her ride and ran off “into the woods”.

Shade Tree had tasty barbecued ribs and chicken for Mother’s Day.  There were live flowers on the tables.

The state road crew was in Creston spraying herbicides so that local residents can have their exposure to the “harmless, innocuous, perfectly safe” chemicals. After all the state taxpayers need to take care of the vendors who sell herbicides.  TC Energy (TransCanada), a Rockefeller firm advised Creston residents that the company would be spraying herbicides to enhance their Oriskany gas storage field at Rockport over on the other side of the county.

Electric grid operator PJM Electric noted that the new Biden EPA rules that are to go into effect this year concerning natural gas and coal fired plants will, by necessity, ration electric power.  This should be a boon for those who sell generators.  Likely one should have a supply of kerosene on hand to fill lamps as well.

It was recently reported that doctors who pushed patients to take the vaccine for the Wuhan Kung Flu were financially rewarded with some taking in $250,000/year.  Trust your doctor?  Now, not so much and more reports continue to come out about more bad things happening to those who “took the jab”.  The “excess deaths” phenomenon has not gone away.

One of the Loudin family put up a new sign “Camp Dade” where Steve lives on the former Pell place.

Someone demolished the old Okey J. Campbell home on W. Va. 5 in the community’s western suburbs.  Way back when it was the Jim Petty home.

Enron (now called EOG) reported that their wells in the oil window of the Ohio Utica share are the best in the nation.  Enron has assets in Creston & was formerly called Belco.

A  big Marcellus drilling company sent out a lease that stated that gas will be paid a fictional price royalty based on the heat value (BTU) and that lessor will not receive an additional payment for any natural gas liquids extracted, processed and ‘created’ from the gas produced.  This is the result of corrupt legislators passing forced pooling legislation that assures that W. Va. residents are robbed from their valuable natural resources. The lease calls for binding arbitration which means that, no matter what, one can never sue the company or be part of a class action suit.  Perhaps there will be some justice served on Tuesday on some of the perps.

The Henry Hub (Louisiana) price of natural gas rose to $2.19/MMBTU while local gas produced in March fetched just 80 cents.  Perhaps folks in W. Va. are expected to go the “extra mile” to assist the wealthy elsewhere.  TC Energy announced that the company is preparing for a natural gas surge.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude slipped to $77.26/bbl. with condensate, sometimes called super mountain high test, fetched $59.26/bbl. with Marcellus & Utica light bringing $66.26 & medium $77.26/bbl.
