Area residents attended the 74th annual West Virginia State Folk Festival at Glenville where there was some excellent traditional music played.  The under 50 fiddle contest was spectacular and there were two very young players, both with talent.  John Morris from Ivydale explained that when his mother was back in school at Glenville she helped Dr. Patrick Gainer have the first festival.  David O’Dell noted that the legislature passed HB 4793 which allows one to make 5 gallons of whiskey/moonshine or ten gallons per family.

Chuck U. Schumer who rules the US Senate decided the other day to show that he “is just like ordinary people” who have back yard barbecues.  His picture showed cooked hot dogs and a piece of Velveeta on a raw hamburger.  It should also be noted that he claims to be Jewish and cheeseburgers are not Kosher.

Local folks have been feasting on fresh green beans, tomatoes & summer squash.  With terror threats, threats of transport interruptions it is best to have fresh produce and meat grown locally.  Recently it was noted that one can put some local hamburger in with imported meat [from God knows where] and then label it “product of USA”.  The new “food pyramid” has caused obesity in children, especially those who are from the “disadvantaged” folks.

The green weenies tell us that fossil fuels are bad and such “must be banned”.  However, in the real world 2023 set a world record for the amount of coal, oil and natural gas that was consumed according to the Statistical Review of World Energy.  Chesapeake Energy noted that over the next 5 years there will be a 20% increase in the use of natural gas and the big, planned “data centers” will require immense amounts of electricity and natural gas is the only fuel that can meet quick demands.

In the US there has been a plan to “go after” leaks of methane/natural gas from leaky fittings, etc. using super sniffers, etc.  However, again, world wide, flaring and venting of natural gas to quickly get crude oil apparently, once again, set a new record.  It’s big time in Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, Russa, Algeria, Libya, Nigeria and, of course, the US.  Decades ago some local oil fields were ruined when the natural gas was “blown off”.

It was reported that 74% of the COVID deaths were caused by the “vaccines” and hospital treatments using remdesivir which caused kidneys and other organs systems to shut down.  The drug was associated with a prominent political family.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude oil is $79.73/bbl. With condensate fetching $61.73/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light bringing $78.73/bbl.  Brent (North Sea) crude is $84.27/bbl. and the Henry Hub price of natural gas is $2.788/MMBTU.
