Creston News Week of June 16th

The Burning Springs M. E. Church only had Sunday School as Rev. Gillespie was off.  Next week a Gideon speaker will bring the message.
The Creston area has been having rain bringing the hay harvest operation to a halt.  Up in Ohio Amish Country some folks there were putting up second cutting alfalfa hay.
Denise Bunner's rose bush is spectacular and milkweeds and butterfly weeds are at their peak as are the Chinese chestnuts with their "unique" smell.
A Creston resident named Jackie who lives on the family farm [since 1832] demonstrated her motorcycle skills the other day, so to speak, and her father has the video to confirm the story.
A local woman fell out of bed the other night but was not hurt.  Seems she was having a dream about being chased by an immense bee.
On Saturday June 21 Shade Tree will have a 10th anniversary with live music, all sorts of food and special events.  Make sure to stop by and join in the fun.
For months now local residents have been getting calls about "more benefits" from medicaid/medicare especially by "Mary" and then "John".  Often the calls are disguised as local numbers as the scammers try to flim flam local residents.  The other day one local resident got a mailer along the same line.  The political animals always talk about the safety net but the mailer shows a healthy looking welfare king with expensive earphones laying in a hammock paid for by taxpayers against their will.  The harpies down in the lower Potomac swamps cry about cutting the able bodied from welfare benefits but why should taxpayers feed and provide medical care to those who elect not to work?
New data that has come out shows that the so called COVID vaccine causes cancers and other diseases and now the average life span in vaccinated nations is dropping.  The so called "long covid" is also a problem caused by the vax.  Some of our "fine leaders" need to be held accountable as it turns out that they knew better.  Along those lines the problems of shots for infants has shown more bad results.  SIDS [sudden infant death syndrome] now has been linked to a vaccine with the death happening 7 days after the shot.  Seems testing of vaccines is not the case and, of course, we don't want to talk about the huge increase in autism.  When one has a family member that has been badly impacted one, obviously, takes serious note.
Dr. Fauci & his minions in government and the government controlled media trashed ivermectin likely because they knew it would cure the Wuhan Kung Flu that Fauci had his buddies make in the germ warfare lab.  Recently, the University of Wisconsin did a report on Dr. William Campbell who shared a Nobel medicine prize for determining that ivermectin cured river blindness.  Ivermectin was first used to treat heartworm in cattle and now it seems that it is very effective in the treatment of cancer.  At least one local resident is alive because his neighbor found some of the drug to treat the man made virus.
The West Virginia State Folk Festival will be June 19 & 20 at Glenville. That is where one can go to hear traditional music performed.  The fiddle & banjo contests are in the afternoons at the college auditorium and both nights there are programs with the best and there is square dancing downtown by the bank.
Wilma Mowrey was spending some time in the Minnie Hamilton hospital facility. Some local folks, ranging from quite young to the great grandmother range have tested positive for Lyme's disease and are now taking medication.  One local fellow discovered a dark spot in his elbow and discovered that a tiny tick had burrowed in there.  He'd had lots of regular ticks over the years (decades) but this was a first. It is said that there is a significant increase in Lymes disease this year.
It was reported that the W. Va. Supreme Court ruled favorably in the cases where Antero & Jay Bee wanted to be allowed to take deductions not allowed in the leases.
Talk about data centers in W. Va. Seems to have "gone away" after all are we not supposed to be an energy colony existing to make others wealthy & prosperous?  The State of Ohio has approved Williams Company's plan to build a power plant in New Albany to power a Facebook AI center and Amazon has proposed $20 billion of centers in eastern Pennsylvania.  Those have made the green weenies very mad as such might "promote globull warming".
Duke Energy has announced a new gas fired power plant in South Carolina that obviously will be fired with natural gas from W. Va. Or that is sent through our state.
Tenaska is said to be ready to start drilling their CO2 injection well in the northern panhandle.  The story is the gas is to be put in the "pore spaces" but actually it is to be injected into a deep brine.  It could be that the company does not have permission to store & inject by the proper owner.
Some local residents attended the (Sen. Donna) Boley breakfast at Cheryl's and the speakers were former Wood County Sheriff Sandy & former Washington County (Ohio) Sheriff Minks.  They discussed scams that are current in the area [and elsewhere].  The very next day one woman who was there received a strange telephone call concerning "an opened Fed Ex package".  The two former sheriffs are to give a talk at the Creston Community Building at a later date.
Stand Energy, a local buyer of natural gas, noted that after 20 years of flat use of electricity now there is an increase from data centers and new industrial users.  This will mean that new power plants will have to be built to supply reliable power.
The US EIA (Energy Information Administration) said that natural gas would be in the $4 range for the entire year while a banking group said it would be between $3.50 - $3.75 through 2026.  The NYMEX July future was $4.06.  Locally natural gas sold for $2.67788/MMBTU.  The price of west Texas oil was $68.79/bbl. With Brent (North Sea crude) fetching $74.23/bbl.  The was with Iran caused a significant jump in world prices because of the possibilities of interruption of shipments to Europe & China.
