Debbie Sue Wagoner, 71, of Spencer, died Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born February 4, 1953, at Spencer, the daughter of the late Alphas Orran Mike Nester and Mary Irene Nester Deweese.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter, Toni and grandmother, Mary Alice Tanner.
Debbie was a 1971 graduate of Spencer High School. During her life, she worked at Roane General Hospital, and at several local grocery stores. She also spent many years focusing on raising her children. She loved watching and feeding wildlife. She enjoyed dancing, traveling to Alligator Rock and Butterfly Rock at the Williams River near Cowen, completing sticker art books, playing canasta, attending auctions, and helping people in need. She will be forever remembered for always saying “I love you,” at the end of every conversation.
In addition to her enjoying spending time with her family during the holidays, two of her most favorite pastimes were shopping for groceries and bargains all across WV with her husband of 53 years Robert “Rob” Wagoner and helping him work up and package deer meat each hunting season.
Debbie was a Christian by faith and was long time member of Spencer Tabernacle where she was an integral part of the church working with children, sharing her personal testimony of faith, and her willingness to pray with people in need.
Debbie is survived by her husband and love of her life Robert “Rob” Wagoner; sons Rev. Dr. Toby and Jennifer Wagoner of Ravenswood, WV and Michael and Ginger Wagoner of Millwood, WV; grandchildren Andrea “Andi” Donahue and her husband Bryan of Phenix City, AL, Samantha “Sam” and Randy Lawson II of Spencer, Michael Wagoner ll and his fiancé, Katie Blackwell of Vienna, Ethan and Grayce Wagoner of Ravenswood, Aaron Wagoner stationed at Whiteman AFB, Hailey Chapman of Chesapeake, OH, Hannah Wagoner of Ravenswood, WV and Gabe Chapman of Chesapeake; one sister, Darlene Deweese Metz of Spencer; five great-grandchildren, Xavier, Violet, and Finley Donahue of Phenix City, AL, and Jocelyn and Randy “Trey” Lawson III of Spencer.
Debbie was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Williams River. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to honor Debbie’s life, could make a donation to your local animal shelter in her name.
