The hills are alive in Calhoun County and filled with hopeful hunters as Buck Firearm Season officially kicks off this morning. According to Huntstand.com, 650,000 whitetails and 280,000 hunters show West Virginia to be a strong deer hunting state. The state has been stable the past several years, and that continues onward. While weather, mast crops, and other factors can change and influence deer season, hunters should expect a good year.
Ridgeview News is praying for a safe hunt and would love to post your trophies, (no matter the size) on the Ridgeview. Please send photos and information to talk2shari@gmail.com or message or tag me on Facebook.
Make sure you wear your orange today and hunt safe. No trophy is worth your life.
