A Friday evening search for a reckless driver ended when Bryan Duskey, age 23, wrapped his Black Mitsubishi Lancer around a tree in the area of 286 Sassafras Road.
Calhoun 911 dispatched the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department, Minnie Hamilton EMS and the WV State Police at 5:40 p.m. to the scene of an automobile accident with entrapment. The car was reported to have been on fire but was put out before emergency services arrived on scene.
Upon their arrival on scene Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department went into action for the removal of Bryan Duskey, who was unconscious at the time. The car had wrapped around a large tree and his legs were penned beneath the dash. In order to remove him the Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to remove the top of his car, then once it was removed emergency workers could maneuver the victim from the area that had him trapped. As he was being removed from the vehicle he regained consciousness and appeared to be uninjured but because of his earlier loss of consciousness and uncertain condition Minnie Hamilton Health System transported him to their facility.
WV State Police Trooper David Moore is the investigating officer. He arrived late to the scene because he had been in the Millstone area looking for what was probably the accident victim. Earlier in the evening Trooper Moore had received a call about a Black Mitsubishi car that was driving reckless in the Millstone area. He believes it was likely Bryan Duskey. Inside Mr. Duskey’s car was multiple empty beer cans and other alcoholic debris.
Bryan Joseph Duskey was arrested on December 17, 2022 following his release from Minnie Hamilton Health System for DUI 1, Reckless Driving and No Insurance. He is currently being held in the WV Central Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
