Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department and the Upper West Fork Fire Volunteer Department were dispatched by Calhoun Control shortly after 4:45 a.m. when multiple reports came in of a structure fire in the downtown Arnoldsburg area. The one story dwelling, reportedly owned by Mark Loomis, was full engulfed and beginning to damage the neighboring dwelling owned by Gail Butler.
Ms. Butler stated that at approximately 4:30 a.m. she heard screams coming from outside and assumed someone was fighting. She then heard the sound of something exploding and realized that her neighbors house was on fire. Cody Waybright, who lives behind the Loomis dwelling, reported hearing the same thing.
The house was occupied by a male and female (both refusing to identify themselves). Calhoun County EMS was called to examine them, but neither were transported from the scene. Mark Loomis did not reside in the home.
