Eugene Forest Marks, 92, formerly of the Millstone, WV, community, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of February 6, 2024, at Minnie Hamilton Health System Long-Term Facility, Grantsville, WV, where he had been a resident for over four years.
Eugene was born June 30, 1931, in Calhoun County, a son of the late Pearl and Hattie Cottrell Marks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Kathleen M. Thomas, brothers Leon Marks, Willard J. Marks, Mitchell Leonard Marks, and Holly Marks, also a special nephew Rick Thomas.
Eugene is survived by many nieces and nephews along with his family of residents and staff at Minnie Hamilton Long-Term who loved and cared for him. He proudly represented MHHS Long-Term Care as their King at the 2023 Molasses Festival, Arnoldsburg, WV.
Eugene was a farmer and was employed by a local farmer in Calhoun County for over forty years and helped at the cane grinding mill at the WV Molasses Festival for several years. He always raised a nice garden and enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV, on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Chaplain Bob Bailey officiating.
