Eugene H. Stump, 78, of Spencer, WV, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 16, 2025, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, WV.
He was born May 31, 1947, at Millstone, WV, the son of the late Harlan and Deena Maxine McCune Stump.
Eugene graduated from Calhoun County High School and attended Glenville State College. He worked for Kellwood Company for 29 years and for Spencer Walmart for 15 years. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, Mt. Zion, WV and he attended Faith Baptist Church of Spencer when his health permitted.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Sharon Tanner Stump.
He is survived by his siblings Wanda “Bonnie” Schreffler of Cambridge, Ohio; William “Bill” Stump; Judy Godfrey; and Robin Stump; and his children Clinton, Christopher, and Cassandra Stump all of Spencer, WV.
He loved playing guitar, studying philosophy, and was an avid reader.
Eugene will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
