EVA ANN PARKS SNYDER

EVA ANN PARKS SNYDER, 86, of Beatrice, West Virginia, formerly of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Ohio Valley Healthcare in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

She was born November 4, 1936 at Dutchman in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late W. T. and Carrie Merrill Parks. She worked as a nurses aide at the Eastern Star Home in Millwood, West Virginia and while there met her future husband, Lewis Snyder, whom she married September 28, 1963. Together they started a business named Little Pond Creek Beagles where they also raised rabbits.

Eva was a published poet, writing about the things she loved-God, family, flowers, and her sons, JR and Jerry. As a young adult she sang alto with her sisters, “The Parks Sisters”.
In later life she enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music and telling how she raised flowers to take to church for the altar. But the chief love of her life was her son, JR.
Eva is survived by her son, Lewis “JR” Snyder, Jr (Martha); sisters, Loretta Stanley, Virginia Boswell, Carolyn Fulper, and Sue Weese; and brother, Bob.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Snyder; infant son, Jerry; and brothers, Bill, Jim, Don, and Charles; and sister, Donna Jean Richards.
Service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Pastor Ken Heiney officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service.
