According to a criminal complaint filed by Trp. J.D. Richards, multiple officers responded to a call that came into Calhoun Control through 911 on June 10th, 2022. A woman had driven to Calhoun Mini Mart at Minnora and informed the cashier that her husband was trying to kill her. Trooper Richards, Deputy C.J. Myers and Cpl. D.C. Moore arrived on scene at which point the victim, Ada Love told them that she had at her residence, two AR-15 style rifles for which her husband was aware of. She and her husband Michael Love had traveled to Charleston in an attempt to sell her fire arms to Will Jewelry and Loan in South Charleston, WV where he was asked to leave the pawn shop after disputing over the price offered.
On their way home Michael Love threatened to kill her and continued to threaten the same once they were home. He picked up her gun and was threatening to kill her with it so she exited the home, hearing what was possible shots but wasn’t for sure. After driving to Mini Mart, 911 was called.
Mrs. Love was transported to Minnie Hamilton Health System and later taken to a women’s shelter in Parkersburg.
A criminal history of Michael Love confirmed that out of many changes, he had a felony conviction for the Possession of Cocaine from Hillsborough County Florida on October 3, 2011. Following the incident, Michael Love left the resident in a Toyota Tacoma truck registered in the name of Ada Love and was not seen for an extended period of time.
Trooper Richards’ complaint requested that Michael Love be charged with Felony Prohibited Persons x 2.
Michael Love was arrested on October 5th, 2022 and taken to WV Central Regional jail where he is being held on $50,000 bond.
