Former CHS Library Taking Shape to Tell a New Story

The 1982 Foundation Construction crews continue working to transform the former Calhoun High School into the beauty she was meant to be. A View from the main hallway on the 3rd floor looking through old library shows the area that will be framed as a sitting room with beautiful bookshelves and reading areas. A door opening will be cut in the wall at the far end of this photo where the two windows are visible. The doors will lead to a new, all steel deck running the length of the library. Tenants may avail themselves of this shared deck. The deck will also serve social gatherings.

A look from the third floor down the space made for the elevator.
The Saundra Johnson Memorial pool received it’s official stamp of approval by the WV State Health Department and will be opening on the weekend of Memorial Day!

This project continues to be a beacon of hope for the Community to “Never say Never!”
