Fredrick charge with DUI following accident

In a complaint filed by Sheriff Graham Knight in Calhoun Magistrate Court, he stated that on Thursday April 10th, 2025 at approximately 9:21 p.m., Calhoun County dispatch advised him of a single vehicle crash on Route 5 East, Little Kanawha Hwy. After arriving on scene, Sheriff Knight observed a silver in color Chevrolet sedan laying on its side at approximately 309 East Little Kanawha Hwy. The vehicle was occupied by Norman Frederick who was found lying unresponsive in the driver’s seat. After Fire & Rescue broke the rear windshield out of the vehicle, Sheriff Knight noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage permeating the air. He also observed that Norman was disoriented and had slurred speech when speaking. Norman had no registration or insurance on the vehicle and after acquiring Norman Frederick’s driving information from WVSP Charleston, Sheriff Knight discovered that Norman’s license was revoked pursuant to a previous DUI in 2013.
On Friday, April 25th, 2025 a search warrant for Frederick’s medical information was executed and records the show his ALC level of 347.0. Using a standard conversion equation, it is determined that Mr. Fredrick’s Blood Alcohol Content was approximately .299.

Norman Frederick did knowingly, intentionally, and unlawfully operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC greater
than .15, operated on a revoked driver’s license, and operated with no vehicle registration or insurance.

These events occurred within the geographical boundaries of Calhoun County, West Virginia.

Norman Fredrick was taken to WV Central Regional Jail where he is currently being held on a $2,000 cash or surety bond in case number 25-M07M-00084
