Gayle Manchin, the wife of WV Senator Joe Manchin was admitted to a hospital in Alabama on Monday after being involved in a car accident according to the senator’s office.
Sen. Manchin’s office said that his wife and a colleague, Guy Land, were involved in an accident in Birmingham while traveling to an event for the Appalachian Regional Commission. Both are in stable condition. ARC announced that “another vehicle struck their car” while they were driving to attend a grant workshop.
“Both were admitted to UAB Hospital and are receiving excellent care” according to Senator Manchin. She remains in stable condition but will stay there for a couple of days for precautionary measures.
