George H. Frederick, 84, of Big Springs, WV, passed away on April 10, 2025, after an extended illness.
He was born on May 6, 1940, the son of the late Benjamin and Virgie Frederick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Frederick, with whom he was married for 63 years.
Also preceding him in death are his three brothers, Denzil Frederick, Dallas Frederick, and Roger Frederick; his three sisters, Eva Jean Sams, Edna Jarvis, and Lillian Frederick; and one daughter-in-law, Angie Frederick.
He is survived by four children: Rodney Frederick (Roberta), Debbie Walker (Michael), Sherry Price (Loren), and Gregory Frederick. He had seven grandchildren: Jessica McCumbers, Heather Walker, Jeremy Frederick, Amanda Basnett, Matthew Walker, Greg Frederick, and Michael Frederick. He was also blessed with sixteen great-grandchildren.
George lived in Calhoun County, WV, all his life. He worked several jobs throughout the years, including in the oil field, as a tractor-trailer driver, and in milk truck delivery. He and his late wife owned and operated Frederick’s Ashland in Big Bend for 15 years. He then went on to drive the bus for the committee on aging. After he stopped working, he spent time living a simple country life with his wife and their animals at their home. They also enjoyed frequenting local restaurants.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A funeral will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 107 Market St., Grantsville, WV, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Matt Sanders officiating.
