Eric Squires of the Gilmer County Emergency Management Provided an update on the current flooding in Gilmer County of the Little Kanawha River.
Mr. Squires stated that the river is currently at 24. 20 feet and rising. They believe it will reach 25 feet before it crests but are hoping that it stops short of that. There have been several houses in the area that have received flood damage due to blocked culverts and flash flooding.
Flood State for Glenville is 23 feet, moderate flood state is 26 feet and a major flood stage is 28 or higher.
They’re currently trying to remove an unoccupied truck from the high waters.
