Glenville State University Employees Recognized for Service

GLENVILLE, WV – Glenville State University President Dr. Mark Manchin honored several employees at the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon that was held on Tuesday, May 9 in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. Manchin presented certificates of appreciation to several employees for their many years of service at Glenville State University in addition to other awards given to individual members of the campus community.

Glenville State University recognizes employees beginning with 15 years of service; subsequent employment milestones are recognized in five-year increments.

Those recognized for their years of service in 2023 included:

35 Years of Service

  • Denise Sprouse, Lead Postal Worker

30 Years of Service

  • Joyce Riddle, Director of Purchasing

25 Years of Service

  • Duane Chapman, Associate Professor of Art & Head Boxing Coach
  • Greta Peters, Campus Service Worker

15 Years of Service

  • Virginia Boggs, Senior Payroll Representative
  • David Hutchison, Vice President for Advancement
  • Dr. David O’Dell, Professor of Chemistry

Boggs was also presented with the Staff Employee of the Year Award and Campus Service Worker Ronnie Golden received the inaugural Staff Rising Star Award. Professor of Chemistry Dr. Kevin Evans was recognized for receiving the Faculty Award of Excellence.

“I am always pleased when our faculty and staff can take time to pause and enjoy each other’s company at events like this. It also gives us the opportunity to recognize our greatest resource, the outstanding Glenville State University employees. We are extremely grateful to all of our employees,” Manchin said.
