Goat Coop Roster is Open to Interested People

The new Calhoun Goat Coop met on Saturday at the Community Center. The picture below of Carol Lynn Hoffman and Lily epitomizes the human/goat relationship.


The Coop is currently researching the legislation with USDA and WV Dept of Agriculture to understand what is necessary to sell cheese and milk for human consumption at a farmer’s market. They are also researching pasteurizers for the commercial kitchen.

Crystal Mersh, 1982 Foundation President is going to suggest to the Farm 2 Table team, of which the Goat Coop will be a part of, that there is also a focus on berries. Goat cheese and blueberries, Something to look forward to having available in Calhoun County.
