CHARLESTON, WV – Governor Patrick Morrisey issued a proclamation today recognizing January 27, 2025 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Morrisey asks West Virginians to honor the memory of those who perished, the survivors who carry the scars of their experiences, and the generations who have the responsibility to educate future generations of the horrific events carried out by the Nazi regime, in which six million Jewish men, women, and children were systematically murdered.
January 27 marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in 1945.
