TOWN MEETING IS AT 4 P.M. TODAY, MARCH 3RD, 2025
The last meeting notice posted on the Town of Grantsville website was for January 6th, 2025. Ridgeview News will continue to call this matter out on any government agency that fails to notify the community in a proper manner that there is a Council or Commission meeting.
Although their only requirement is placing the notice on the door of their building, I couldn’t tell you if they did; because I haven’t been in Town. But in Ridgeview News Opinion, that manner of notification tells me a few things about a Government body.
- They do not care enough about the people they serve or they’d want them to know they were having a meeting.
- Doing only what’s “required” when it’s still inadequate speaks volumes on how you’re likely running the rest of the government business.
- Those in charge of Government tax dollars don’t want people to know what’s being discussed.
Ridgeview News brought has brought this to the City’s attention on multiple occasions with total disregard by the current and past city administration.
It was an issue with Calhoun County government until new Commissioners came on board and made it a point to get those notices to the media. It is a sad indictment that I can get a notification from another county government on a consistent monthly basis, but the county I live in won’t comply with what should be business etiquette 101.
I make no promises that there is a meeting of the Town Council this evening, but if there is, it’s at 4:00 P.M. 6:00 p.m. at the City office.
