According to a complaint filed by Trooper Brian E. Young of the West Virginia State Police in the office of Magistrate Lora Davis, Young stated that on or about July 28th, 2022 at 6 p.m. Kenneth Harris had been served with a Domestic Violence Petition by Trooper Young at his residence located at 4071 E. Little Kanawha Highway Grantsville, WV. When the petition was served, Kenneth Harris was ordered to surrender all firearms and ammunition as directed by the Protective Order.
The accused stated that he had three rifles at which time he surrendered them to Trooper Young. He further stated that he had no other firearms. On Thursday August 4, 2022 the accused sent a video of himself possessing a pistol in his residence. The video was sent to the victim by a third party in which she identifies the pistol as belonging to Harris, one that he did not turn in upon the surrender of the other firearms listed on the property receipt and he was still in possession of. The same loaded fire arm was recovered on August, 2022 from the bedroom of Kenneth Harris.
Kenneth Harris, age 54, was charged with Violation of a protective order and Illegal person with a firearm. He is being held at the WV Central Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety or cash bond.
