History, Heritage and Homecoming at The 1982 Foundation Fall Festival with a Goat Derby for fun!

Plans are well underway for the October 1st Fall Festival at the Calhoun County Community Center. According to President of the 1982 Foundation, Crystal Mersh, the theme for this years event is History, Heritage and Homecoming. The grounds of the previous Calhoun High School will be bustling with excitement and activities around the theme with opportunities for all kinds of kids (two and four legged) to be involved in activities.

This year will be the first Goat Kart Derby. Kids will prepare their cart….train their goat… and then join the race. Lots of laughter is anticipated for this event!

A worthy effort for local chefs (or wanna be chefs) to compete in the BBQ Cookoff with $1000 bucks up for grabs. There will be a $500 prize or best brisket as well as another $500 for best smoked pork.

Pumpkins pumpkins and more pumpkins will be available from the first year planting of the Pumpking Patch on Spring Run, Arnoldsburg.

For your listening and learning pleasure there will be Heritage demonstrations and bluegrass music and the event will be be finish with a bonfire and more music.
