On Sunday, September 22nd, 2024 at approximately 2:40 a.m. Calhoun County Dispatch received a call from Candy Hussey that there was a male at her trailer in the Arnoldsburg area of 13119 South Calhoun Highway who would not leave her property. Ms. Hussey also stated on the 911 recorded line that the male had pushed her down two times and broke the table in the camper.
On the same date, at approximately 0300 hours Sr. Trooper J.D. Richards arrived on scene and spoke with a male sitting outside of the camper at the back of Deer Run Rentals. The male informed Sr. Trooper Richards that he had been hit in the head with a beer bottle by Candie Hussie, to which there was notable swelling on the male’s face, who was adamant that he had been struck by Ms. Hussey.
On the same date, at the same time, theTrooper spoke with Candie Hussey who stated that she was requesting the male to leave when he shoved her to the ground twice and then she called 911. Ms. Hussey also stated that while she was on the phone with 911 he was following her around yelling “Where’s the POPO!” multiple times and saying you’ll see when the police show up! Ms. Hussey denied hitting the male in the head with a beer bottle and stated that any injury was from when he had shoved her down and she pulled him down with her. Ms. Husey added that the two of them had gotten into an argument and Ms. Husey shoved him several times to try to get him out the door.
Sr. Trooper Richards could smell alcoholic beverage emitting from both parties when they spoke. Ms. Hussey and the male were in intimate relationship and he was stying with Ms. Hussey for the weekend at her camper.
Ms. Hussey was taken into custody for “Domestic Assault” and “Domestic Battery” for making willful contact and putting the male in reasonable apprehension of harm. After her arrest she was taken to the West Virginia Central Regional Jail and placed on a $6,000 bond.
(a) Domestic battery. – Any person who unlawfully and intentionally makes physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with his or her family or household member, or unlawfuly and intentionally causes physical harm to his or her family or household member, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be confined in jail for not more than twelve months or fined not more than $500, or both fined and confined.
(b) Domestic assault. – Any person who unlawfuly attempts ot commit a violent injury against his or her family or household member,
or unlawfuly commits an act that places his or her family or household member in reasonable apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be confined in jail for not more than six months or fined not more than $100, or both fined and confined.
